About Thendara M Kida-Gee
Thendara gained a B.A (Honours) Fine Art at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London 2002. That was merely the cherry on the cake for studies began at the San Francisco Art Institute. Photography was studied and inspired by Pirkle Jones who taught Documentary of social and cultural institutions.
This love and obsession can be seen today in her This Life in Ruins project; documenting the abandoned and forgotten aspects of our civilization; finding beauty in disrepair and neglect. Her photography both documentation as well as a story in cinematic stills of the aspects of life commonly ignored.
Thendara's art spans from a long term love affair with photography to installation and dabbles at all levels or oddness in between. The work additionally revolves around a holistic lifestyle that attempts to use more and waste nothing and in the process of making is also a process in recycling.
Finding the perfection in everything rather then trying to perfect it.
